Cases of Fracture of Left Humerus, and Dislocation of the Wrist-Joint

چکیده
ruary, 1866, with compound fracture of left humerus, just above the condyle, and compound Colles' fracture of the same side. The fracture was owing to a fall, which the patient sustained on her left hand, from the verandah of a one-storied house. A portion of humerus, about one inch long, was denuded of periosteum, and protruded through a wound on the outer side, about two inches in length. The bone was reduced and the arm put on a splint. About 20 days after, the dead and lustreless bone was again protruding through the former wound, which had increased in size, and was sawn off whilst the patient was under the influence of chloroform. After a month the bone united, the fracture of the forearm got firm, motion of the elbow-joint remained perfect; iu fact, nothing remained to point to the grievous nature of the injury, except some roundness and swelling at the lower part of humerus ; this will disappear in time by absorption. The patient was discharged on the 2nd May, 1866.

Elbow dislocation with bicondylar humeral fracture in an adult: a unique type of injury
Simultaneous fracture of lateral condyle and medial epicondyle of humerus along with elbow dislocation is very rare injury in adults. Only a few cases have been reported in literature in pediatric age groups. The authors describe a case report of fracture of lateral condyle and medial epicondyle of humerus along with elbow dislocation in a young adult. The patient sustained injury in the form o...
متن کاملAxillary Artery Injury Associated with Proximal Humerus Fracture: A Report of 6 Cases
Proximal humerus fractures are common, but associated injury of the axillary artery is uncommon. The majority of published blunt traumatic axillary artery injuries are associated with anterior glenohumeral dislocation; a few are associated with isolated proximal humerus fractures or fracture-dislocation. Experience within our institution demonstrates that axillary artery injury is often unreco...

AbsractAll perilunate fracture-dislocations combine bone avulsions, ligament disruptionand fractures in different forms. The most frequent pattern is the dorsal transscaphoidperilunate fracture-dislocation. The reported risk of missed initial diagnosisin perilunate dislocations is as high as 20%. Concerning pathomechanics of theperilunate fracture-dislocation, it should be noted that most dorsa...
